This is it, the last few pages of the story. Soon it would be time to close the book and set it down. But why do you seem reluctant to finish those last pages? Why don’t you close the book? Oh, I get it. This story doesn’t end with “And they live happily ever after”.
Wish all stories would end that way. Then everyone would be happy. Right? But what if the story doesn’t ends with a “Happily Ever After”? That doesn’t mean that you have to keep holding on to it, wishing for a better ending. Think of the journey the story had given you. Think back on how the story brought you a whole new adventure. Opening up your eyes on things you’ve never knew and teaching you more about yourself. In short, think back on how this story has been trying to make you be a better person.
Think of all the happy parts of the story. Parts that tickled your heart and made you laughed out loud, louder than you’ve ever laughed. Think back on the parts that had swept you away and kept you dreaming throughout the whole story. Don’t be afraid to recall back those moments. Even though the story has ended, these moments have become a part of you, tucked away forever in your memories. And when you think back on them, you’ll probably smile at the jokes that were once so funny and maybe chuckle a bit at the memory of a few funny incidents. Maybe you’ll even tear up a little at the memory of those magical moments where you were whisked off to a fairytale. But it’s alright. Go on and shed a few tears. Just remember to be thankful that it happened and not to be sad that it’s over.
And yes, every story also has their bad moments. There may be some parts in the story that made you so mad that you just want to scream out loud. Just thinking back on those parts of the story makes your hands shake because of the anger you feel. But when you think back on these moments, try not to think about the hurt and resentment that you felt. Rather then that, try to think back on what those moments had taught you. Remember how by encountering those moments, you’ve become a much stronger person then you were before. Yes I know that a few words had slipped out of your mouth when you were mad and you might be regretting some of it. But what’s done is done. You can’t change the past. So learn from your mistakes and be a wiser person then you were before.
Then there are the sad parts of the story. Parts when you felt as though your heart has been ripped out of your body. Thinking back on these moments are the hardest, I know. It seems that every time you do so, fresh tears will come rolling down your face. But remember, time heals everything. You may cry now but later on after a few years when you think back on these moments, you’ll smile a sad smile and be surprised at how you’re not crying anymore.
So now it’s time to close the book. And smile at remembrance of what had happen in that story. It might be the end and there may not be a “Happily Ever After”.
But hey, don’t be sad. Be strong and think of it as the starting of a brand new story. There will be lots of blank pages, waiting to be filled up.
So, don’t hesitate now. A new adventure is waiting.
